Senorita Panama 2018
Rosa Iveth Montezuma Montero is a Panamanian model who was crowned Miss Panama in 2018. She is the first woman of indigenous heritage to become a national beauty queen and is an active Ambassador of the Ngabe Bugle Culture since 2017. Since 2015 she has been Director of the Children's Camp of the Muna region and in 2018 was selected Miss Comarcas (Indigenous People Territories).
Rosa was born in David, Chiriqui in 1993 and raised in Alto Caballero. She has a degree in Food Science and Technology and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science for Education.
Her social activism focuses on creating opportunities for native women to share their wisdom, safeguard traditional values, develop projects and integrate a greater use of technology. These activities seek equality for native women and thereby positively impact the lives of indigenous children and young adults.
This Miss Panama knows that her idealistic banners face difficulties to obtain positive changes in the communities she defends, but she is confident that improvement can be materialized through her efforts and exposure.
